TPEG - TEXAS PUBLIC EDUCATION GRANT

The purpose of the Texas Public Education Grant emergency funding is to assist international non-resident students who demonstrate significant financial need. Emergency funding is insufficient to meet all educational expenses and is only intended to be supplemental funds. Awardees will be granted a one-time award of up to $2,000.00 per semester for a maximum of two semesters. 

Eligibility requirements:

  • Students must have been enrolled for one academic year (any combination of long academic sessions such as fall/spring) at TXST per degree level.
  • Student must demonstrate financial need.
  • Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Transient, non-degree, exchange, and other short-term F-1 SEVIS status students enrolled at Texas State are ineligible.
  • Students must hold a valid F/J SEVIS status during the award semester.
  • Students must be in good academic standing and not be on probation or suspension.
  • Students must be enrolled and attending at least half-time at the time of award. (Concurrently enrolled hours do not count toward the academic hours needed to qualify for the grant).

  • Students must be making satisfactory academic progress at the time of application.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need. 

Special consideration will be given to:

  • Students enrolled full-time.
  • Students paying the nonresident tuition rate.
  • Students with a SBS tuition balance.
